iOS 6 Improves Call Handling

iOS 6 now allows you to elegantly reject calls with a tool to the right of the standard slide to reply widget. You can now have your phone automatically remind you to call someone back either based on time or location. You can also reject a phone call and have your phone automatically respond with a message to the caller.
iOS 6 also supports a do not disturb mode that you can turn on to avoid being woken up in the middle of the night by text messages, calls and push notifications. iOS 6 also exposes fine grained control over what calls/notfications to let through even in DND mode.

I've been wanting that for some time. I travel a lot of work with customers in Asia and Europe and I can get calls and texts any time, so this is great.

Now you don't have to remember to unmute the phone. That's sort of the point of technology, making life easier.I like this feature and hope Android rips it off and it makes it to my phone.

I've had an app on Android for over two years that offers up a timer setting whenever I mute the ringer, I can either set a time for it to unmute or ignore the prompt... I've had dumb phones with similar functionality.That being said, Apple's new functionality is built in and it's pretty slick imo, nothing you can't already replicate elsewhere with apps but this kinda core telephone/ringer functionality should definitely be built into every mobile OS (specially iOS where an app can't really replicate all these features due to API access).

Why would Android need to rip this off from Apple. Apple has just ripped this off from Android. I have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Ice Cream Sandwish (Android 4.0.4) and my phone ALREADY CAME WITH THIS FEATURE built into the operating system. Apple always wants to scream with someone takes something from them, but they want to claim all the glory for stuff they steal from other people. Addendum: When my Android ICS phone rings, I simply slide the circular phone button upwards and select what message I want to text back to the person calling. "Can't take the call right now, I'm in a meeting or "I'm busy" or "customize your own sayings." This feature is NOT something NEWLY DEVELOPED BY APPLE. All of these features are already on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), so why is Apple making this out like they developed this stuff. They stole the ideas from Google Android and now are promoting it like they developed the idea. And yet, they are the first to start scream patent vioations when someone takes one of their ideas! just like ICS, reject with message, I've been using that a lot lately, cause some calls just come at the busiest time
