Intel Announces its Second Smartphone Platform Partner - Motorola
by Brian Klug on January 10, 2012 7:54 PM ESTIntel just showed off the Lenovo K800, its first design win with Atom inside. The second partnership was just announced as well, and it's Motorola. None other than Motorola Mobility CEO Sanjay Jha just took the stage with Intel CEO Paul Otellini to announce the partnership. Motorola devices with Intel inside will be in carrier validation this summer with launch shortly after that.
The agreement is multi-year and no doubt will result in multiple Intel-inside mobile devices from Motorola. Looks like those rumors about LG being one of Intel's smartphone platform partners turned out to be just that - rumor. We'll be updating as we learn more.

More like Google+Motorola had no other choice, by making Morola devices around x86 they sidestep the unfair competition rumours that would had been unavoidable if it remaind mainly ARM based.That is, as long as they don't get Android before the other vendors.
At the same time, as long as Google sticks to change the manufacturer for each Nexus device, this partership ensures that Intel doesn't get Android before anyone else, at least not from Motorola.
Now if the next Nexus just happens to be from Lenovo...

I'll bet good money that this dont have battery life as good as even the current ARM SoC's, let alone all the new ones released later this year that it'll be competing with. I'd also bet it's performance isn't better than the next wave of ARM SoC's or current quad-core designs.Sapan - Wednesday, January 11, 2012 - link
I use to think the same way but that may only be true for 2012 and maybe 2013.I think in the long run Intel's superior manufacturing capabilities may beat the current chip vendors to smaller processes like 22nm and 14nm - thus gaining the upper hand in battery life and performance. Plus we will be able to do things like run all the current x86 applications on future Intel tablets without awful performance and battery life.

ok should i be waiting for motorola's Intel based device or shall i go for lava XOLOand if i wait would i be getting a deviece from Motorola which is as good as Lava XOLO(i mean in features like NFC,etc...) that too around the same price point in India?
