Tons of Thunderbolt Peripherals at IDF

We've been asking for more Thunderbolt devices and it looks like we're seeing the first examples of that today at IDF. Check out the gallery below for a bunch of new storage and expansion devices that use Thunderbolt.

Well those are a whole lot of non-interesting.Does ANYONE provide the Thunderbolt peripheral that would actually be useful to more than a tiny minority --- TB to maybe 3 USB3 ports, or 2 USB3 ports and an eSATA port? Heck, throw in a gigE port (they're cheap) as well for MBAs without gigE.
I don't understand what is going on here. It is obvious that this is the peripheral people want, and yet the brand makers refuse to provide it. I expect in six months Chinese brands like Kingwin WILL be providing this sort of thing for $30, and the name brands will be crying about how difficult it is to compete with China.

I mean it's a great step in the forward direction but this crap is just designed to make someone hate what they buy. How enormous are these thigns? Aside from Seagate whom I think will make significantly smaller sized products and integrate them into their externals, I don't see any of these other things making any headway whatsoever.overseer - Wednesday, September 21, 2011 - link
TB looks like a promising tech and is gaining some popularity these days, but I don't think the quantity of devices you saw at IDF can be exaggerated to the degree of "tons". That word might be more appropriate at Computex 2012 or CES 2013 suppose Intel goes well with it.
