It's finally here, and hopefully worth the wait! Verizon Wireless and Motorola Mobility announced this morning the new and improved Droid Bionic, the first dual-core, 4G LTE handset. After all the leaks the spec sheet seems fairly familiar, but the TI OMAP 4430 running at 1 GHz with SGX 540 GPU, 1 GB of RAM and 4.3" qHD screen should make this a top performer. The handset will be Webtop capable and so the requisite docks will be available, and the device will also support HDMI mirroring for media playback on a big screen. On the software side Android 2.3.4 is on deck and Motorola is introducing ZumoCast, an application that provides remote access to media stored on your comptuer at home, along with the now standard assortment of enterprise apps including Citrix GotoMeeting and Citrix Receiver.
Handsets go on sale Thursday September 8th for an eye watering $299 on a two year contract, and we anxiously await our review sample to land. PR is after the break along with some press shots.

I hope that this is as good as it's been hyped! I would love to have this with like an ATRIX type setup. This would allow a dock to house the phone and be able to use a tablet screen with the phone. This way you would have a phone and a tablet without needing separate systems.kepler - Wednesday, September 7, 2011 - link
It definitely looks good, but it would have been better if it were out 4 months ago. Now you have phones the the Nexus Prime and HTC Vigor slated with 1.5ghz dual cores and better screens. From the videos I've seen of this though, everything is looking smooth. I think I may be waiting for the Vigor though.
