The synthetic Winbench numbers show an incredible improvement in performance due to the IDE RAID system, unfortunately the synthetic marks are not representative of the actual performance gains in real world applications. Two points to pay attention to are the Access Time and CPU Utilization comparison charts. The lower CPU utilization of the two drives functioning in a RAID 0 system is a result of the slight offload of the CPU utilization onto the Promise FastTrack controller. And as you may be able to guess, the decreased access time is a result of the parallel access of the two drives in the array.
