The annual CES show is always a mélange of announcements and sneak peeks for what is to come through the year. At the show we had most of our regular editors on foot, meeting with manufacturers to find out what exactly is going on under the hood. Despite some technical hiccups trying to record the podcast on site, I was able to track down some of our editors for a short burst into their main highlights from CES and thoughts on the year ahead.

Cant tell on my phone, but what is going on with the gigabyte board? Is it burning up or is it a submerged system?
  • Ian Cutress - Tuesday, January 17, 2017 - link

Submerged, we've got a news item on it coming out today.

Can you guys submit your podcast to Google Play Music? This is the only one I really miss not being up there (and I'd prefer not to have to download/buy a separate podcasting app)...

    It's about time!

    Excellent podcast!
But the audio quality with Anton was really bad. Not that fact that he was remote but do far from the mic and the room ambience made it really difficult to understand him. All he needed to do was be closer to the mic and it would have been much better.

Perhaps Qualcomm is using an ARM-designed core in the Snapdragon 835 because they moved their CPU designers to their Centriq ARM server CPU project.

Could you introduce yourself at the beginning of the podcast? I think it took about 50 minutes before I knew it was Ian speaking since his name wasn't stated until Ryan's discussion.
